Kane Williamson's fifty against England: Test comeback after September, New Zealand score 319/8 on day one

Former Kiwi captain Kane Williamson, who is making a comeback after almost 2 months, scored a half-century in the first Test against England. The first match of England's New Zealand tour is being played in Christchurch.

By the end of the first day's play on Thursday, New Zealand had scored 319 runs for 8 wickets. Glenn Phillips is unbeaten on 41 and Tim Southee on 10.

Kane Williamson played the highest innings of 93 runs for the Kiwis. He is making a comeback in Tests after an injury. He played his last Test match against Sri Lanka in the last week of September. He was not part of the squad for the India tour due to injury.

Williamson missed his century by 7 runs, captain Latham missed his fifty by 3 runs Williamson missed his century by just 7 runs. He was playing on 93 when Goss was caught out by Jack Crawley off Atkinson's extra bounce. Williamson became a victim of Nervous-90 for the first time in the last 6 years.

At the same time, captain Tom Latham (47 runs) was caught out by Brydon Carse by wicketkeeper Ollie Pope.

Losing the first wicket for 4 runs, Conway scored just 2 runs Batting after losing the toss, New Zealand got off to a poor start. The team lost the first wicket on the score of 4 runs. Devon Conway was caught and bowled by Goss Atkinson. Young Rachin Ravindra contributed 34 runs. Daryl Mitchell could score only 19 runs.

Atkinson and Kars got 2 wickets each Goss Atkinson and Brydon Carrs took 2 wickets each for England. Shoaib Basir took one wicket.
