De Guckes wins third match of World Chess Championship: Defeats defending champion Liren in final for first time, draws

Indian Grandmaster D Gukesh has made a comeback at the FIDE World Chess Championship. 18-year-old Gukesh defeated reigning champion Ding Liren in 'time control' in the third match on Wednesday. Gukesh registered his first win over a Chinese player in a World Championship match. After this win the score is 1.5-1.5. There will be a break on Thursday.

The FIDE World Chess Championship 2024 is underway in Singapore. 14 games will be played in this. It will run till December 12. A tiebreaker match, if required, will be played on December 13. This is the first time in the history of the World Chess Championship that two Asian players are facing each other to become the World Champion.

The final of the FIDE World Championship continues between India's D Gukesh and China's Ding Liren.

Gukesh has made a comeback in the final by winning the third match.

Gukesh won in 37 moves, Liren could not control the time Gukesh won in 37 moves. Leeren suffered the consequences of wasting too much time in the first leg of the match. Gukesh played the third round with White Peace. By the 13th move, Gukesh had an hour lead and had spent just four minutes.

Liren spent an hour and six minutes on the other side. There is no time extension for 40 moves in the first 120 minutes of play. Liren was overwhelmed by the complexity of the match in the middle and Gukesh increased the pressure on him with perfect moves.

Gukesh adopted Kramnik's strategy Gukesh adopted a gradualist strategy. This strategy was adopted by former world champion Vladimir Arigasi Kramnik of Russia against Arjun Arigasi of India in a quick match. Arigasi drew that match. Gukesh won by taking advantage of Liren's easy mistakes. Liren only had two minutes left for the last nine moves and only ten seconds left for the last six moves. Finally he had no time left.

Who is De Gukesh? D Gukesh's full name is Domraju Gukesh and he is a resident of Chennai. Gukesh was born on 7 May 2006 in Chennai. He started playing chess at the age of 7. He was initially coached by Bhaskar Nagaiah.

Nagaiah has been an international chess player and home chess tutor in Chennai. After this, Viswanathan Anand gave Gukesh information about the game as well as coaching. Gukesh's father is a doctor and mother is a microbiologist by profession.

World Chess Championship – Gukesh draws second game

The second game of the World Chess Championship was drawn between Indian Grandmaster D Gukesh and defending champion Ding Liren on Tuesday. Liren defeated Gukesh in the first game on 25 November. Liren's score is 1.5 and Gukesh's score is 0.5 in 14 games.
