Boom…boom… Bumrah's bang…No-1 bowler in Tests: Jadeja remains No-1 all-rounder in Tests; Yashaswi batted second

Jasprit Bumrah took 8 wickets in the Perth Test against Australia.

Indian team's star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has once again reached the top of the ICC Test rankings. The ICC announced the new rankings on Wednesday.

Bumrah recently took eight wickets in the first Test match against Australia in Perth. Bumrah was also adjudged player of the match.

Bumrah has overtaken South Africa's Kagiso Rabada to take the top spot in the Test bowlers' rankings for the second time in a calendar year. Before the start of the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, Bumrah was third in the bowlers' rankings behind Rabada and Josh Hazlewood.

Rabada, who led South Africa's fast bowling against Sri Lanka, has slipped to second place in the Test rankings. Despite taking five wickets in the first Test match against India, Australia's fast bowler Josh Hazlewood is in third place.

Yashaswi leapt up the rankings, reaching second place Yashaswi Jaiswal, who played an important role in India's 295-run win over Australia, has also made a leap in the rankings. Yashaswi has moved up two places to the second position in the batting rankings. Currently England's Joe Root is ahead of him. Yashaswi's rating point is 825 which is his career best rating.

Yashaswi played an innings of 161 runs in the second innings of the first Test against Australia. However, he could not even open his account in the first innings. Yashaswi shared 201 runs with KL Rahul for the first wicket.

Kohli gained nine places Star batsman Virat Kohli, who scored an unbeaten century in the Perth Test, has also gained nine places to 13th. Kohli scored an unbeaten 100 in the second innings of the first Test match against Australia. This was his 30th century in Tests. Marnus Labuschagne of Australia has slipped to 14th place due to poor form. Steve Smith and Usman Khawaja have also lost two and four places.

Jadeja remains top among all-rounders In the ranking of Test all-rounders, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin remain in the top-2. However, both were not part of the squad for the first Test match against Australia. Bangladesh captain Mehdi Hasan has moved up three places to third place after a good performance with bat and ball against West Indies.
