Russia Expels British Diplomat: Russia Says – Infiltrated for Espionage; Britain refuses to send troops to Ukraine

Russia expelled a British diplomat. According to a report by Russian news agency TASS, Russia's Foreign Ministry has alleged that the British diplomat came to the country for espionage purposes and gave false information about himself.

The foreign ministry said the diplomat's diplomatic accreditation was revoked for violating Russian law and he was asked to leave Russia within two weeks.

The British Foreign Office said in response to the decision to expel the diplomat that this was not the first time that Russia had made baseless allegations against British personnel. They will reply in due course.

The name of the British diplomat is said to be Edward Wilkes. The photo of Wilkes was shown on different TV channels in Russia.

French newspaper claims – British-French army will soon move to Ukraine

A report in French newspaper Le Monde claims that Britain and France are considering sending troops to Ukraine. Citing sources, the newspaper claimed that during PM Kiir Starmer's visit to Paris in early November, he discussed the deployment of troops to Ukraine with President Macron.

However, the British government termed this claim as 'false'. Britain's Defense Minister David Lammy said he would continue to support Ukraine, but there was no truth to the news of sending troops there.

Britain sent a new batch of Storm Shadow missiles

Britain has just sent a new batch of Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine. Storm Shadow has a range of over 250 km. It has been in use since the early 2000s. Britain and France jointly developed this weapon. The French version of this is known as 'scalpe'.

On November 18, the US allowed Ukraine to use a long-range missile – the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS). After this, Britain also allowed Ukraine to use the Shadow Storm missile. In response, Russia launched a new medium-range hypersonic missile 'Orashnik' over Ukraine.

France wants to destroy Ukraine: Russia Russian President Vladimir Putin has already warned that the deployment of Western forces in Ukraine could lead to a serious conflict in Europe and a global conflict. Putin said Russia reserves the right to attack military facilities of countries that allow their weapons to be used against Russia.

On the other hand, regarding the deployment of troops by Britain and France, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has said that we are investigating the veracity of this media report. Any Russian attack with a green light from France would only harm Ukraine. Zakharova alleges that France wants to destroy Ukraine.

Macron said – it is necessary to send the army, so that Russia can be prevented from winning

​​​​​​​Media reports claim that France and Britain may send personnel from private defense companies to Ukraine to train troops and maintain equipment sent from Western countries. Following the release of the report, a French foreign ministry spokesman said at an event that there was no ban on sending troops to Ukraine. Earlier in February, President Macron expressed his desire to send troops to Ukraine to prevent Russia from winning the Ukraine war.
