Honda e-scooter to launch today with two swappable batteries: It will get a fully digital touch screen and a range of 104 km, rivaling the Ola S1

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter is going to launch its first electric scooter in the Indian market today. The electric two-wheeler will come with two swappable batteries. This could be e-Activa. Honda has released several teasers of the e-scooter, both showing swappable batteries. The teaser released earlier showed two different types of digital instrument cluster.

The company says that this scooter will be as powerful as the Activa 110 and will have a range of 104 km on a single charge. The company recently unveiled its concept model at the EICMA Auto Show held in Milan, Italy. Once launched, it will compete with the likes of TVS i-Cube, Ather Rizta, Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak and Ola S1 range.

Due to the availability of replaceable batteries in e-scooters, the space under the seat will be very less.

Turn by turn navigation and music control The teaser shows that the lower variant of the Activa Electric will get a 5-inch TFT display, while the top variant will get a 7-inch multi-colour screen. Battery charger, range left, speed, mode, Bluetooth connectivity, service alert and many other important information will appear in the touch screen. Apart from this, the e-scooter will also have features like turn-by-turn navigation and music control.

At the same time, information like speedometer, battery percentage, odometer and travel data will be available on the TFT display of the base variant of the e-scooter. As per the earlier teaser, the electric scooter will have a swingarm-mounted motor. Apart from this, glimpses of LED headlamps and seats have also been seen. The electric scooter will also feature an all-LED lighting setup and a USB-C charging port.

This touch screen will be available in Honda electric scooters.

Design: The e-scooter will come with three color options The concept model of the e-scooter CUVe was recently unveiled at the EICMA, an automotive show held in Milan, Italy. The E-Activa has been given a traditional scooter design, which looks quite simple. It features headlights on the front panel, while the petrol version of the Activa has headlights on the handle bar. The electric scooter will be offered with three color options. These include Pearl Jubilee White, Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic and Premium Silver Metallic.

The Honda electric scooter has a telescopic fork at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. It uses 190mm front disc and 110mm drum brake at the rear. It has 12-inch alloy wheels on either side. The E-Activa will have a wheelbase of 1,310 mm, seat height of 765 mm and ground clearance of 270 mm.

Performance: 104km range on full charge with removable battery If media reports are to be believed, the Honda electric scooter will feature a swingarm-mounted electric motor with a maximum power of 6kW. The scooter will be offered with three riding modes: Standard, Sport and Econ. Apart from this, physical keys and reverse mode will also be available as standard.

To power the motor, two 1.3kWh removable batteries will be available, offering a range of 104km on a single charge and a top speed of 80kmph. An electric scooter will take 3 hours to charge from 0 to 75% and 6 hours to charge from 0 to 100% using a standard charger.
