Today is the second day of the winter session of Parliament. There are chances of uproar in both houses over the Adani case and riots in UP administration. On the first day of the session on Monday, a heated argument broke out between Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhard and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. In fact, Dhankhar told Khadge that our constitution is completing 75 years. Hope you stay within that limit. Kharge replied that in these 75 years my contribution is also 54 years, so don't teach me. On this Dhankhad said – I respect you a lot and you are saying this. I am hurt. After this, the Rajya Sabha proceedings were adjourned till November 27. On the other hand, the proceedings of the Lok Sabha could not be completed. The opposition leaders created an uproar on the Adani issue. The proceedings of the House were adjourned till November 27. Also, the Rajya Sabha bulletin said that an additional bill passed by the Lok Sabha, the Indian Aircraft Bill, is pending approval in the Rajya Sabha. JPC members sought more time on Wakf Bill The Joint Committee on Wakf Amendment Bill is expected to submit its report in Parliament on November 29, but only if it adheres to the deadline given in the monsoon session. The JPCA has to submit its report on the last day of the first week of the session. However, opposition members have sought extension of time for the panel to submit its report. Regarding this, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiran Rijiju says that there is a provision to extend the tenure of the JPC, but there has been no discussion on it yet. This should be discussed in the working meeting committee. The JPC has held 25 meetings since August 22. In this, suggestions have been taken from 123 stakeholders, including 6 Ministries, 8 Waqf Boards and 4 Minority Commissions. The Wakf Act, 1995 was enacted to regulate Wakf properties, but has been accused of corruption and encroachment. The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 seeks to bring reforms, digitization, audit, transparency and create a legal mechanism to recover illegally acquired properties. Congress once again has 99 MPs in the Lok Sabha after Priyanka Gandhi's victory in Kerala's Wayanad Lok Sabha by-election with three members of the Gandhi family in parliament for the first time. The Wayanad seat was vacated by Rahul Gandhi, while the Nanded seat fell vacant due to the death of Congress MP Basantrao Chauhan. By-elections have been held recently and both the seats have returned to the Congress. This will be the first time that three members of the Gandhi family belonging to the Congress party will be members of Parliament together. Rahul Gandhi is the Lok Sabha MP from Rae Bareli and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is from Wayanad. While Sonia Gandhi is a Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan. Now Know, 4 Highlights of Last Session… 12 Bills Introduced in Monsoon Session, Only 4 Passed The first Monsoon Session of the 18th Lok Sabha ran from July 22 to August 9. A total of 15 meetings were held in the entire session lasting approximately 115 hours. The productivity of the house during the session was 136%. In the same session, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget for 2024-2025 on July 23. Jaishankar said in Parliament – Hindus were attacked in Bangladesh External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar made a statement on the situation in Bangladesh on August 6 in both houses of Parliament. He said that people are on the streets in Bangladesh, Hindus are being targeted. This is a matter of concern.
