Blasts in Chandigarh ahead of PM's visit: 2 bombs thrown outside club, youth seen running away on CCTV; Participation of rapper Badshah in a club

Blasts took place outside D'Aura Club in Sector-26 at Savile Bar and Lounge on Tuesday morning ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Chandigarh on December 3. Due to which the glass outside the club was broken. According to media reports, famous rapper Badshah is also a co-owner of Seville Bar and Lounge Club.

As soon as the information was received, police officials including the SSP arrived. A forensic team was also called for the investigation. Samples have been taken from the site. Preliminary investigation by the police has revealed that the youth who threw the bomb came on a bike.

The bomb used in the incident was packed with nails and inflammable material. Items related to this have also been recovered from the spot. Police believe that country-made bombs (twine bombs) have exploded. Police are also probing the extortion angle.

The CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced. At 3.15 am, a youth threw a bomb-like object towards the club. After which there was a huge explosion. The young man ran away as soon as the smoke rose.

DSP Dilbagh Singh said that at 3.25 am we received information about a personal problem in the control room. Our investigating officer went to the spot. SSP Kanwardeep Kaur has instructed the Operation Cell, Crime Branch, District Cell and other police stations to arrest the accused at the earliest.

Savile Bar & Lounge's Instagram account mentions that the restaurant is owned by rapper Badshah. Badshah's Insta ID has also been tagged along.

A distance of 30 meters between the two clubs The masked accused came from Sector-26 police station. The accused had parked the bike on the sleep road. First he dropped a crude bomb outside the Seville Bar and Lounge. After this they came to throw bombs outside D'Aura Club. There is a distance of about 30 meters between these two clubs.

In Chandigarh, the club was shut down when a blast took place outside the club. Due to this reason, there were no casualties in the blasts. It is feared that the attackers tried to spread panic. There was only one security guard at the venue. He informed the police.

After the blast, nails were seen lying on the spot. Police suspect that it was used in the bomb.

Apart from local police, bomb disposal squad, dog squad and a team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) also arrived to investigate this. After this, pictures of two suspicious youths were revealed. The police investigated it from the terror and gangster angle.

The incident took place in house number 575 of sector-10. The house belongs to retired principal Bhupesh Malhotra. The family was sitting in the veranda of the house at the time of the incident.
