AQI crosses 400 again after 2 days in Delhi: Classes to be conducted both physically and online in schools; Kedarnath valley shrouded in light blue haze, Nainital air also bad

The photo is of Kedarnath and Chaukhamba hills in Uttarakhand, where very little snow is visible even in November. There is absolutely no snow on the surrounding mountains. The entire gorge is covered with light blue haze, which is due to pollution.

Air pollution in Delhi has again reached the severe category after 2 days. AQI crossed 400 in 18 areas of Delhi on Tuesday morning. The air of Anand Vihara is most poisonous. AQI was recorded here as 436.

As many as 12 schools were brought online from November 18 following the Supreme Court order. Now it has been decided to open schools after a week. All schools up to class 12 can now run in hybrid mode. That means classes will be held both physically and online in schools

The impact of pollution in Delhi has reached Uttarakhand. AQI has reached close to 200 in Nainital. It is considered in bad category. Kedarnath valley is shrouded in blue mist. Scientists believe that this is the effect of Delhi's polluted air.

The Meteorological Department has released the pollution map for the last 24 hours. According to this, air is worst in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Patna and West Bengal.

How Delhi's air increases pollution in Uttarakhand… 3 points

  • Delhi's air pollution is now spoiling even the clean air of the Himalayas. PM 2.5 levels in the air of tourist destinations like Nainital and Mussoorie in Uttarakhand have touched 130 micrograms per cubic meter in the last one week.
  • Dr. Aryabhatta Observational Science Research Institute (ARIES), senior meteorologist at Nainital. According to Narendra Singh, pollution from Delhi and surrounding areas moves towards the mountains with warm air in the afternoon. Which appears in the form of blue mist on the mountains in the afternoon.
  • Dr.Narendra Singh said that moisture in the air mixes with these particles to form a layer of fog. Which is now easily seen in the Shivalik ranges. Due to this pollution smog is visible in Nainital, Almora, Dehradun and Mussoorie these days.

Rain is the only solution

According to expert scientists, the immediate solution to this problem is rain. When it rains, the pollution particles in the air are washed away, which improves the air quality. However, it is difficult to solve this problem in the long run without controlling pollution in the plains. Currently there is no hope of rain for the next few days. 2 pictures of pollution…

Pollution is also increasing in Kolkata. Here the AQI reached the bad category.

Smog guns were used to reduce pollution in Delhi. Due to which the roads were jammed.

The Supreme Court said- in Delhi Grape-4 restrictions will apply On Monday, the Supreme Court held a hearing on Delhi's pollution. In this, the court said- till the pollution is not reduced, GRAP-4 will be applicable in Delhi. The Supreme Court directed the CAQM to consider resumption of classes in schools and colleges in NCR and surrounding areas.

The court emphasized that students do not receive mid-day meals and many students do not have the resources to attend online classes. However, the court refused to relax the fourth phase restrictions of GRAP and said that the restrictions can be lifted only if there is a sustained reduction in AQI levels.

GRAP is imposed when AQI crosses 400 To check the air pollution level, it is divided into 4 categories. Standards and measures are fixed for each category. It is called a Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). Under its 4 categories, the government imposes restrictions and takes measures to reduce pollution.
