Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah hailed Yashwi Jaiswal's century in Perth as his best Test innings. The captain said that in his eyes Yashasvi is the player of the match. He also praised Virat Kohli. In India's second innings, Yashaswi scored 161 runs and Kohli scored an unbeaten 100 runs.
India defeated Australia by 295 runs in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The team has taken a 1-0 lead in the 5-match Test series.
This is Yashaswi's best Test innings In the press conference after the match on Monday, Bumrah said, “If I had to give man of the match, I would give it to Yashshwi Jaiswal. In my view this was his best Test innings. Because he plays an aggressive game, but the way he released the bad ball and held on for a long time really helped us.'
Kohli doesn't need us, we need him He continued, 'Virat Kohli doesn't need us, we need him. He is an experienced player. This is his fourth or fifth Australian tour. He knows his game well.'
This is a very special win for me Bumrah said, “This is a very special win for me. This is my first test win as captain. We were under pressure but everyone showed responsibility and the team made a comeback. Happy with the way KL Rahul batted.'
I will have so many stories to tell my son Bumrah said, 'My son and wife have come here to watch the match. He also came to watch the T20 World Cup. He is still very young, but when he grows up, I will have many stories to tell him.'
