80,000 more senior citizens to get pension in Delhi: 5 lakh people to get up to ₹2,500 per month; AAP government announcement ahead of elections

On 21 November, AAP announced the first list of 11 candidates for the Delhi Assembly elections.

Ahead of the assembly elections in Delhi, the AAP government had announced the resumption of the pension scheme for the elderly. 80 thousand new old people have joined this scheme. Earlier 4.50 people were getting the benefit of this scheme. Now more than five lakh elderly people will come under the ambit of this scheme.

60 to 69 years old will be given Rs 2000 per month. While senior citizens above 70 years will get 2500 rupees per month. Announcing the scheme, former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said that he came out of jail with the blessings of his elders. This plan is to thank them.

The current term of the Delhi Assembly ends on 23 February 2025. Elections may be held in the next two months. The last assembly elections were held in February 2020, in which the Aam Aadmi Party won an absolute majority and 62 out of 70 seats.

Kejriwal said- Pension double as compared to previous governments Addressing a press conference in Delhi on Monday, Arvind Kejriwal said that Delhi provides the highest pension to the elderly in the country. In other states where there is a double engine government, the pension is very low. In Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra Rs. 500 and in Assam Rs. 600 is received.

When our government came in 2015, we doubled the pension in Delhi. Earlier governments were giving Rs 1000 per month to senior citizens aged 60 to 69 years. We did 2000. For senior citizens above 70 years, it has been increased from Rs 1500 to Rs 2500 per month.

AAP's 'Debate on Rewar' campaign was launched on 22 November. At that time, Kejriwal said that 65 thousand meetings will be held in the whole of Delhi. Our Govt will distribute 6 free 'Revdy' pamphlets.

He said, we have done a lot of work in Delhi. We have provided 6 free facilities 'Revdos' to the people of Delhi. We want to ask the people of Delhi whether they want these 'Rewaris' or not.

Kejriwal said, 'Your workers will ask the voters what the BJP has done for Delhi in the last 10 years, as the national capital is half a state, here the central government has as much power as we do. BJP is in power in 20 states. They don't give this free 'revdi' even in one state. This is because it is not their intention. Only AAP knows how these facilities are provided. BJP has stopped the work of Delhi government.

PM Modi has said many times that Kejriwal is giving 'Rewari' for free, this should stop. We say yes, we give this free 'rewari'.
