Season's first snowfall in Himachal: Sonmarg blanketed in white sheets, tourists enjoy snowfall; MP-Rajasthan temperature below 7 degrees

Snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh has increased the cold in the states of North India. Now the temperature has started to decrease in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh as well. In Madhya Pradesh's Pachmarhi, Narmadapuram and Rajasthan's Mount Abu, the temperature dipped below 7 degrees. Many cities of the three states have been recording temperatures below 10 degrees for the past 3 days.

The Meteorological Department said that apart from these three states, there will be fog in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar on Monday morning. Visibility has reduced to 100 meters in Poornia, Bihar due to fog. Himachal Pradesh received its first snowfall of the season on Sunday. Snowfall is also predicted in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh today on Monday.

Dense fog was seen in Noida, which is adjacent to Delhi, on Monday morning. Due to which the visibility also decreased.

The temperature in Lahaul Spiti has reached minus during snowfall.

In Delhi, people warmed themselves by bonfires to escape the bitter cold.

Three more days of cold in MP-Rajasthan

  • Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are getting colder due to icy winds coming from the mountains due to melting snow and cold winds blowing 12 km above the surface, meteorologists said.
  • According to meteorologists, this effect will remain in Madhya Pradesh till November 27. After this the effect of cold may decrease. However, hill stations like Pachmarhi and Mount Abu will continue to experience cold weather.

Heavy rains in the north east, less winters in the south

  • The Meteorological Department has said that the period of heavy rain will continue in the North Eastern states. Heavy rain with strong winds and lightning is expected in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on Monday.
  • The impact of cold is less in the states of South India than in the states of North India and Central India. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala will witness another round of heavy rains from today, which may continue till November 27.

The temperature has started rising again in Rajasthan. Apart from Jaipur, Udaipur, Ajmer, Kota, the Shekhawati belt has also seen an increase in day and night temperatures. In Sikar, where the minimum temperature was recorded below single digits for a week, the temperature has now dropped to 10 degrees Celsius.

Chhattisgarh is getting colder due to northerly winds. People take the help of fire all around to avoid the cold at night. The lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded at 8 degrees in Ambikapur.
