Ola bills Rs 90,000 for scooter service: Customer smashes scooter with hammer in front of service center, bought only a month ago

A video of the company's scooter breaking in front of Ola Electric's service center has surfaced. The customer bought this Ola scooter a month ago, for which the service center billed him Rs 90,000. Enraged by this, the customer smashed the e-scooter with a hammer in front of the company's service center.

A friend of the customer made a video of this and shared it on social media platform X, which is going viral. Many social media users have given their reactions on the viral video. Many users have tagged comedian Kunal Kamra while posting this video from their account.

The person who recorded the video can be heard saying that the owner of the scooter is breaking the scooter he bought a month ago as the company billed him Rs 90,000 for servicing. At the same time, users on social media are blaming Ola for its poor service, while some are calling it fake and saying that the bill document should be shown. The video has gone viral days after the incident, when comedian Kunal Kamra openly criticized Ola Electric and its CEO Bhavish Agarwal for the poor service. Kamra posted a picture of several Ola electric scooters parked together for repairs.

Bhavish further wrote, 'We are rapidly expanding the service network and will soon eliminate long queues.'

Ola has received a show cause notice Meanwhile, the central government issued a show-cause notice to Ola Electric over complaints from thousands of customers over the quality of its best-selling electric scooter. The National Consumer Helpline took this action after receiving more than 10,000 complaints in the last one year.

The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) had issued a 'Show Cause Notice' against Ola for violation of consumer rights, misleading advertisements and unfair trade practices. Various allegations were made in the complaints against Ola Electric.

But, the company did not clarify the total number of complaints filed by customers.

The company's market share decreased Ola's retail sales rose 68% month-on-month to 41,605 units in October 2024 from 24,710 units in September. Now the company's share in the 2-wheeler market has reached almost 30%. The company's market share has declined over the past few months, from 53.6% in April to 27% in September. Bajaj Auto, TVS Motor, Aether Energy and Hero MotoCorp posted monthly sales growth.
