Earth's Word: The Booker-winning 'Orbital' Concept of Reality

Ajay Singh Chauhan

It brothers flew the world's first airplane in 1903. It flew only one hundred and twenty feet; Twelve seconds were enough in the air. Before the century was over, mankind had built a space station, traveling at a speed of twenty-eight thousand kilometers per hour, in an orbit four hundred kilometers from the earth, which could accommodate more than six astronauts at once. Astronauts have known for twenty-five years that the International Space Station (ISS) is orbiting the Earth. It is the only man-made object in space so far that can be seen with the naked eye at night. Some time ago due to Sunita Williams it came into more discussion and a large section of the society got to know about it. Sunita Williams and her fellow astronaut Barry Wilmore went to the ISS on the maiden flight of the private company Boeing's Starliner spacecraft, but a technical glitch made it difficult to return to the same spacecraft, meaning that the journey that was supposed to be completed in a week was delayed by five months. Thus, Sunita Williams has been there for seven months before, but at that time the discussion was less. Now again this ISS has become the center of discussion in the literary world and the reason is the Booker Prize. The thing is that now the novel 'Orbital' by an English writer named Samantha Harvey has been announced as the Booker Prize. Samatha is known for its unique stories. The main subject of the novel 'Orbital' is the ISS. Samantha charts the round-the-clock routine of Antov, Roman, Neil, Chi, Shaun and Pietro, six astronauts from America, Russia, Italy, United Kingdom and Japan living in the ISS. In it Neil and Chi are female astronauts while all others are male. The author divides the novel into sixteen orbits, as the ISS orbits the Earth sixteen times in twenty-four hours. So technically passengers staying in ISS get to see sunrise and sunset sixteen times in twenty four hours. Samantha has used this well. The author has studied the minute details of space station life. Astronauts in the ISS have a fixed daily task. They are in constant contact with ground stations on Earth. First he has to get up and exercise for two hours, because the human body is used to the gravity of the earth. In the zero-gravity environment of a spacecraft, the functioning of muscles, veins, nerves of the brain, body chemicals is disturbed. So exercise has to keep it elastic. Their food is also flameless, packed in cans for months. Drinking water made by recycling urine. Set a routine and get busy with your work. How plants grow in space, how bacteria and viruses grow, what are the effects of living in space on the human brain and other organs, what are the effects of drugs on all these, what kind of cyclones are forming on Earth.. .The list of works is very long. All these are gross things. Anyone who wants to know about ISS can get this information from Google. So what is it about this novel that has earned it such a prestigious award? should The biggest attraction of this novel is its descriptions. Views of the ISS as it passes over different parts of the Earth at different times. The descriptions of storms in the Sahara desert, high mountains, ice-covered seas, cities shining at night, the dark black Pacific Ocean, cyclones on the sea, red-green lights created near the north and south poles due to solar storms, galaxies visible in the infinite universe keep the reader hooked. . Along with all these are the greens running through the minds of astronauts. One has a daughter, husband, wife, mother and father on earth. Everyone has different questions. With all these memories, the author reveals the layers of life. ISS astronauts often get drenched in rain, see falling leaves, running deer. Roman even says in a dialogue that he does not even want alcohol or sex when he goes to earth. Just get your own bed to sleep in'. Orbit 3 is particularly enjoyable because of its poetic prose. Earth looks like heaven from a distance. Full of colors. But, when we are on earth we think that heaven is somewhere else. Earth is home to countless creatures, including us—mankind. Its importance is understood when one is away from home. The ISS is a symbol of the masculinity and organizational strength of mankind for thousands of years. In this way, this novel is not only told, but a lot is explained. Until now, science fiction used to depict the imaginary world of the future. Samantha Harvey paints reality with the eye of imagination. In this way, in the field of science fiction, Nokhi Kadi Kandare. }
