The committee constituted by the interim government has recommended the formation of this agency. Besides, a demand has also been made to investigate six other big energy and power agreements made during Sheikh Hasina's tenure as PM.

An official statement said – The review committee of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources has recommended appointing an agency to investigate the agreements made regarding power production agreements from 2009 to 2024.

In a statement issued from the office of Mohammad Yunus, Chief Advisor of the Interim Government, it was said – The review committee is reviewing seven major energy and power projects. This also includes Adani (Godda) BIFPCL 1234.4 MW Coal Fired Plant.
