Indian batsman Tilak Verma has become the first player to score a century in three consecutive innings in T-20 cricket. He achieved this feat with a 67-ball 151 for Hyderabad against Meghalaya in the first match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25. This match is being played in Rajkot.
Before this, he scored two consecutive centuries against South Africa in the third and fourth T20Is. He scored 107 not out in Centurion and 120 not out in Johannesburg.

Hyderabad scored 248 runs Tilak batted at number three against Meghalaya and scored runs at a strike rate of 225.37. He hit 14 fours and 10 sixes in his innings. He scored 50 runs in 18 balls with the help of six fours and three sixes. Tilak added 122 runs in just 48 balls for the second wicket. With the help of his innings, Hyderabad scored 248 runs for 4 wickets. This is Hyderabad's highest score in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. It is also the fifth highest score in the history of the competition.
In reply, the Meghalaya team was bowled out for 69 runs. Hyderabad won this match by 179 runs. Aniket Reddy took 4 wickets for the team.
With the help of Tilak Verma's century, Hyderabad scored 248 runs for 4 wickets.
Mumbai retained Tilak Verma was one of the five players retained by Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL-2025 auction. He played for the team in 2023 and 2024. Apart from that, Mumbai have retained Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma.
Thilak has been retained by Mumbai for IPL-2025 for Rs 9 crore.
