AR Rahman and his band member Mohini Dey surprised everyone by announcing their separation from their partner on the same day. On 19 November, Rahman and his wife Saira Banu announced the end of their 29-year marriage. Shortly after that, Mohini Dey also talked about divorcing her husband. Simultaneously, the news created a stir on social media and rumors started spreading that Rahman and Saira's relationship broke up because of Mohini. Mohini has now broken her silence on these rumours.
Mohini Dey wrote on her Instagram story that she has been called for many interviews, but she doesn't want to divulge anything about it. He wrote, 'I've been getting a lot of messages for interviews, and I know why this is happening.'
After this, Mohini appealed to respect her personal life and said, 'I have no intention of increasing these rumours. My time should not be spent on these things. Please respect my privacy.'
Earlier, AR Rahman's son AR Amin also reacted to his parents' divorce rumours. She wrote on Instagram, 'My dad is a legend, and not just because of his work, but also because of the respect and love he has received over the years. I am sorry to spread false rumours. We must understand that when we talk about someone, truth and respect are most important. Please refrain from spreading false rumours.'
Mohini Dey and her husband Mark Hartsch also announced their separation in a post. He wrote, 'We have decided to separate by mutual consent. We have an understanding and will remain good friends. We will work together on many projects including Mamogi and Mohini Day Group. We have always been proud of the good work we do with each other and will continue to do so.'
