Daljit Kaur's comeback after two years: will be seen in the role of a drug addict, said – I have never touched a cigarette, live a simple life

Actress Daljit Kaur is returning to the silver screen after two years. She was last seen in the TV show 'Sasural Genda Phool 2'. Now she will soon be seen in the web series 'Chitta Way', in which she is playing the role of a drug addict.

While talking to Frontpage Insights, Daljith opened up about his comeback, new web series and upcoming projects. Read some key excerpts from the conversation:

There was some hesitation for this role initially I got this role when the makers needed a simple and real looking face. The story is about a small village in Punjab. He wanted a face that could fit into the environment. Even though my Punjabi is not fluent, my mother speaks Punjabi, which helped me quite a bit to understand the language and adapt to the character.

When I was approached for this role, I was a bit hesitant at first. The story is based on drugs and is very dark and emotional. I wondered if I could play such a strong and emotional story. But the makers reposed faith in me and said that they wanted an actor who could not only portray emotions but also bring out the strength of the character on screen. The character has a lot of depth and the story is not only about the girl's struggles but also about her courage and transformation. I am happy that the makers chose me for this character.

Not even a smoker, playing a drug addict was a challenge It was not easy for me to play this character. I have always lived a simple life, which consisted of the children's school, hanging out with my mom and visiting friends. When I read the script, I felt it was completely different from my life. The story was very dark. I had never even smoked a cigarette before, so understanding drug addiction and portraying it on screen was a big challenge for me.

In the workshop we were taught how the body reacts after taking drugs. For this we were shown several videos and then had to work on our expressions and body language. I tried my best to play the character of Manpreet very realistically and honestly.

I am scared about my son Jaden As every mother is concerned for her children. I am also afraid of the same. Children these days can become addicted to drugs very quickly. Recently, an awareness program was held in my son's school, which stated that children can become addicted to drugs at the age of 6-7. I and other parents were shocked to hear this.

I realized that communicating with my children is very important. He should be sure that he can openly share any of his problems with us. Being a mother, I try to create a friendly bond with my son, so that he does not hide anything from me. This show has also made me personally aware of how children can be saved from this serious problem. Yes, but the truth is also that there are fears about her son Jaden.

I want to spend more time with my son Working on a TV show has always been special for me. But now my priority has changed. When my son was young, I could easily balance work and home. But now he is a teenager and at this age children need their parents more.

Although I still get offers for TV shows, I now choose projects that allow me to spend more time with my son. A big TV show requires a lot of time commitment, which is not possible for me right now. That's why I've focused on smaller projects.

The problem of drugs is not limited to the film industry I think it is completely wrong to associate Bollywood with drugs. The problem of drugs is not limited to the film industry. This has become a major problem in society as a whole. Our story also raises this issue. We need to understand this problem and work together to stop it.
