New Zealand fast bowler Doug Bracewell has been banned for one month for taking cocaine. In January this year, he tested positive for cocaine after a T20 match between Central Stags and Wellington.
Bracewell played the match-winning innings in this match, taking two wickets bowling first and then scoring 30 runs off 11 balls. For which he was given the title of player of the match.
Bracewell was banned for one month by the Sports Integrity Commission.
The Sports Integrity Commission imposed the ban Sports Integrity Commission Te Kahu Raunui has banned the New Zealand cricketer. However, the cocaine was consumed before the start of the tournament and thus received a lesser punishment.
The initially three-month sentence was reduced to one month. After which the one month suspension was stayed till April 2024. The New Zealand fast bowler has already completed his ban, allowing him to resume playing cricket at any time.

He last played a Test for New Zealand in March 2023 against Sri Lanka in Wellington. Bracewell has played 28 Tests, 21 ODIs and 20 T20 matches for New Zealand. He has taken 74 wickets in 28 Test matches. He has 26 wickets in 21 ODI matches and 20 wickets in 20 T-20 matches.
Bracewell played his last match against Sri Lanka in Wellington in March 2023.
Charged with drunken driving Bracewell's career has been steeped in off-field events. In 2008, at age 18, he was convicted of drunk driving. Despite all this, Bracewell made his international debut in 2011.
Bracewell played his first Test match against Zimbabwe.
