The bodies of a woman and two children were found floating in Manipur's Jiri river on Friday. These have been sent for post-mortem. The bodies may belong to those missing from Monday's encounter.
On Monday, armed militants in uniform attacked the Borobreka police station premises and the CRPF camp. In which 10 terrorists were killed. During this period, 6 people went missing from a relief camp located in the Borobreka Police Station complex in Jiribam District.
Locals suspect that the attackers had abducted women and children. Protests are being held in various parts of the state demanding his discovery.
Officials of IG and DIG rank have been sent from Imphal to Jiribam on Friday to monitor the operation.
Kuki society protests with demand for justice People of the Kuki community are demanding justice for those killed in the encounter. Hundreds of people protested in Churachandpur on Friday. They demand that there should be a judicial inquiry into the encounter.
People lit candles to protect the missing women and children in Jiribam. Security forces are busy searching for all these.
The Kuki organization said – the people who were killed were not terrorists, but volunteers Kuki organizations have claimed that those killed were not terrorists. All were volunteers from Kuki Village. It also said that the CRPF should not leave its camp in view of the incident on Tuesday.
IGP Operations IK Muivah rejected the claims of the organizations. He said all those killed had advanced weapons. They all came here to create chaos. This proves that they were all terrorists.
On the comments made by Kuki community on CRPF he said – Police and security forces are working under Government of India. They always work under the guidance of various agencies. Security agencies like police and CRPF will continue to function as per their duty.
Terrorists attacked Police Station-CRPF camp
The Borobekera Police Station in Jakurador Karong area of Jiribam district was attacked by Kuki militants on November 11 between 2.30 pm and 3 pm. In retaliatory firing, security forces killed 10 terrorists.
Near the police station is a relief camp for people displaced by the Manipur violence. People living here have become targets of Kuki terrorists. The camp had been attacked before.
According to officials, the militants wore uniforms like soldiers. 3 AK rifles, 4 SLRs, 2 Insas rifles, one RPG, 1 pump action gun, BP helmet and magazines were recovered from them.
After attacking the police station, the militants fled to a small settlement a kilometer away, security forces said. There, houses and shops were also set on fire. The security forces opened fire on the terrorists.
The farmer was killed On November 11 itself, militants fired from a hilltop on farmers working in the fields in Yaingangpokpi Shantikhongban area of Manipur, killing one farmer and injuring several others.
The police said that in this area the militants were firing from the hills to the lower areas. Farmers working in the fields are being targeted. Farmers are afraid to go to the fields due to the attack.
AFSPA was again implemented in 6 areas of Manipur The Armed Forces Special Protection Act (AFSPA) has been re-enforced in 6 police stations in 5 districts of Manipur. It will remain in force till 31 March 2025. The Home Ministry issued its order on Thursday.
The ministry said the decision has been taken due to deteriorating security situation in these areas. With the implementation of AFSPA, the army and paramilitary forces can detain for questioning at any time in these areas.
The Home Ministry's mandate includes Sekmai and Lamsang police stations in Imphal West district, Lamlai in Imphal East district, Jiribam in Jiribam district, Leemakhong in Kangpokpi and Moirang police station in Bishnupur district.
Heavy ammunition seized in 3 days in Imphal Assam Rifles said that several arms, ammunition and IEDs were seized by the security forces during a search operation in the hill and valley districts of Manipur.
On November 9, a joint team of Assam Rifles and Manipur Police seized one .303 rifle, two 9 mm pistols, six 12 single barrel rifles, one .22 rifle, ammunition and accessories from the forests of L Khonomfai village in Churachandpur district. .
Besides, one 5.56 mm INSAS rifle, one Point 303 rifle, 2 SBBL guns, two 0.22 pistols, two improvised projectile launchers, grenades, ammunition were seized from S Chaungoubang and Maohing of Kangpokpi district.
On November 10, a joint team of Assam Rifles, Manipur Police and BSF seized arms and ammunition from Utangpokpi area of Kakching district. It consisted of 0.22 rifle, ammunition and accessories.

It has been almost 500 days since the violence in Manipur
It has been almost 500 days since the ongoing violence between the Kuki-Maitei. During this period, 237 people have died, more than 1500 people have been injured, 60 thousand people have left their homes and live in relief camps. About 11 thousand FIRs were registered and 500 people were arrested.
During this time there were incidents like naked parade of women, gang rape, burning alive and throat slitting. Even now Manipur is divided into two parts. There is Kuki in the hill districts and Maitei in the plains districts. Boundaries are drawn between the two.
School- mobile internet was stopped. The state government banned the internet for 5 days on September 10 following a sudden rise in violent incidents in Manipur. However, the ban on broadband internet was lifted on 12 September.
