An uproar over the slapping of an SDM during by-election polling in Rajasthan's Deoli-Uniyara (Tonk) continues. Members of the RAS Association, which has been on strike for two days, met Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma.
The president of the association said that the meeting was positive. However, the decision to end the strike will be taken in the association meeting.
Earlier on Thursday, police cleared the jam on the Tonk-Sawai Madhopur highway near Aligarh city today. This part of the highway remained closed for about 10 hours.
There is still a tense situation in Tonk's Samarawata and the surrounding areas of Aligarh city. Naresh Meena, the accused in the slapping scandal, will be produced in court today.
For this, the police have arranged a strict security system. Around 4 thousand policemen are deployed in Tonk and surrounding areas. Meanwhile, after his arrest on Thursday, Naresh Meena was taken to Tonk and then Piplu. He has been kept at Piplu police station overnight.
On Friday, RAS Association submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Bhajanlal. President Mahavir Kharadi said, Protection Act and immediate provision of gunmen to every RAS officer has also been demanded.
Naresh Meena is an independent candidate in Deoli-Uniyara assembly by-election. More than 15 cases have been registered against Naresh, who contested the election by rebelling against the Congress party. He was arrested from Samrawata village on Thursday afternoon.
On Thursday, supporters of Naresh Meena continued their protest on the Tonk-Sawai Madhopur highway throughout the day. Tires were also burnt at several places.

Meanwhile, the police took Naresh Meena into custody at 9.30 pm. As soon as Meena's supporters came to know about this, they became even more angry.
Hundreds of villagers surrounded the policemen and rescued Meena. Naresh Meena's supporters got angry after the police lathi-charged and started pelting stones and arson. More than 50 people were injured in this commotion. It also includes 10 policemen. At the same time, at around 9.30 am on Thursday, Naresh Meena suddenly arrived at Samravata village and accused the police of assault. Naresh Meena was arrested at 12 noon.
