UPPSC withdraws decision to hold exams in two shifts: 20 thousand students protest in Prayagraj for 4 days, PCS and RO-ARO exams postponed

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission Office (UPPSC) has withdrawn its decision to conduct the examination in two shifts. The government has to bow down against the movement of 20,000 students who stood against the commission in Prayagraj for 4 days.

Panch Secretary Ashok Kumar came out of the office around 4 pm on Thursday. There was a buzz and then we went inside. Then announced over the loudspeaker. Said, 'UPPSC will conduct preliminary exam in a day. The Commission will constitute a committee for the Reviewing Officer/Assistant Reviewing Officer (RO/ARO) Examination-2023. The committee will consider all aspects and submit its detailed report.

That means the PCS Pre and RO/ARO Pre exam has been postponed. The PCS exam was scheduled to be held on December 7 and 8, while the RO/ARO exam was proposed on December 22 and 23. Now the new dates will be announced.

Even after the government and the commission came on the backfoot, the students are standing outside the commission. He is adamant about the RO-ARO examination that his matter should also be cleared.

The students are accusing the commission of postponing the decision. They are saying that the committee will have their own officers. When the agitation ends, a decision will be taken against the students.

This morning there was a clash between agitating students and policemen. Policemen in plain uniform arrived to forcibly remove the protesting students. The students said that the policemen misbehaved with the students.

The students were outraged by this action of the police. More than 10 thousand students reached the commission in about an hour. The police sealed the way to the commission by barricading. The protesting students broke the barricade. The students reached the gate of the commission.
