- Donald Trump is expected to visit India next year
Mike Waltz's name is considered a certainty for the US NSA post and the speculation of the name of Florida Senator Marco Rubio for the post of Secretary of State has made the 2 priorities of the Donald Trump administration clear. First, the US will pressure Ukraine and Israel to stop the war. Second, America will give China a strong fight. Following this, the Trump administration is going to make its diplomatic stance in favor of India. As a result, both New Delhi and Washington have initiated behind-the-scenes initiatives for the US President's first foreign trip.
Following this exercise, it is being discussed that the efforts to arrange a meeting between Trump and Modi are being accelerated. A formal initiative is likely to take place soon after Trump takes office on January 20. It will begin with a telephonic greeting message between Modi-Trump. In it, the US President will be notified to come to Delhi for the Quad Summit. The dates of the Quad will be decided in consideration of the participation of the leaders of Japan and Australia.
In that situation, the US Deputy Secretary of State is likely to have a virtual meeting with Indian officials on Thursday. In that meeting, it is hoped to reach a preliminary agreement on the dates of Trump's visit. There are also indications that Pakistan will not be connected with Trump's visit to India. An Asian country could also be the next stop on Trump's tour to convey America's mood to China.
This has been attempted before: This is not the first attempt at government reform in America. In 1993, President Bill Clinton promised to 'reinvent government'. He then formed the 'National Partnership for Reinventing Government'. Their purpose was similar to Trump's efforts. That means cutting unnecessary costs and jobs and getting the best out of the bureaucracy.
