'It's been 22 years since the Gujarat riots, but the truth is still not known' Vikrant Massey said that he was aware that the subject of the film was sensitive. He also realized that this can be discussed both positively and negatively. However, the producer of the film, Ekta Kapoor, had full faith in his script.
Vikrant said, 'Ekta gave me a long research paper. I understand that if the research is so solid, there is no possibility of controversy. At first I definitely wondered if the film was against a particular religion, class or person. Later, after reading the script, I realized that the film speaks only the truth. The sad thing is that 22 years have passed, but there has not been much discussion on this issue.'
