Geyser maintenance required before winter: 8 precautions to take while installing geyser Get servicing if you see these 8 signs

The cold has slowly started knocking. In such a situation, with the change in weather, our lifestyle also changes. Cold water bathing is no less of a challenge when the temperature is below 6 degrees.

People like to bathe in hot water to avoid cold. Nowadays, modern electronic devices like geysers are widely used for heating water. Geysers heat water in a very short time, but some precautions must be taken while using them.

so todaywork news' In we will talk about what are the things to keep in mind while using geyser? You will also learn that-

  • How should a geyser be installed?
  • After how many days a geyser needs to be serviced?

Expert: Shashikant Upadhyay, Power Electronics Engineer (Ahmedabad)

Question- What should be considered while installing a geyser at home?

Answer- Like any other electronic item, geysers also require care. Generally people install geyser in bathroom. However, geysers in bathrooms can also be dangerous if not installed properly.

From the graphic given below, understand the precautions to be taken while installing a geyser.

Let us understand these points in detail given in the graphic.

Use metal pipe instead of plastic pipe

The inlet and outlet pipes of the geyser should be metal instead of plastic. Metal pipes are strong and durable, able to withstand the high temperatures and pressures of geysers.

Keep space between wall and geyser

It is necessary to keep a distance of few centimeters between the wall and the geyser. from that

Maintenance is easy. In case of any problem, the geyser parts can be easily replaced. Apart from this, due to short circuit, current does not flow in the wall.

Consider a height of 6 feet The geyser should be installed at least 6 feet i.e. 1.8 meters above the floor. This not only ensures a good supply of hot water, but also avoids the risk of electric shock.

Connection with MCB is required MCB stands for Miniature Circuit Breaker is an electromechanical device, which protects the geyser from electric overload and short circuit. It works like a switch. The MCB trips when the current exceeds a certain level. which reduces the possibility of fire. So during installation make sure your geyser connection is connected to MCB or not.

Q- What kind of precautions should be taken while using geysers?

Answer- A geyser is an object which is exposed to high temperature, water and electricity at the same time. So, great care should be taken while using it. A little carelessness can cause a big disaster.

Understand from the graphic below what kind of precautions need to be taken while using geysers.

By adopting these tips, you can not only extend the life of the geyser but also save on electricity bills.

Q- Which geyser is better to install at home? Answer- The choice of geyser depends on many things like your requirement, budget and space. Nowadays there are many options available in the market like electric geyser, gas geyser, solar geyser or tank water geyser. Their price ranges from 5 thousand to 50 thousand rupees. You can choose any type of geyser as per your requirement. However, always keep the ISI mark and rating in mind before buying.

Q- When should geyser be serviced? Answer- The geysers are mostly used in winter. So, the geyser should be serviced once before the winter season starts. Indeed, due to prolonged disuse of the geyser, the internal parts of the geyser may get rusted. By servicing, any kind of problem will be detected in time, thereby avoiding the risk of any accident.

You can tell if your geyser needs service by the signs in the graphic below.

Question: At what temperature should the geyser be set? Answer- The water temperature for bathing should be between 40 degrees to 45 degrees Celsius. However, some people set the geyser temperature much higher than this. In such a situation, the water becomes very hot as soon as the shower is turned on. After this cold water is added to it. So that the water temperature becomes normal. This not only wastes electricity but also stresses the system inside the geyser.
