In Wednesday's results, Trump received 295 votes against the 270 electoral votes required for the presidency. Counting is still underway in Arizona and Nevada. Both the states have a total of 17 electoral votes. Trump is ahead here as well. The Electoral College elects the President.
Trump's Republican Party won 295 of the 538 seats in the 50 states. Despite putting up a strong fight, Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris has managed to win only 226 seats so far. Kamala Harris said- This was not expected…
The outcome of this election is not what I expected or what we fought for. We will never give up and keep fighting. Don't be disappointed. This is not the time to give up, it is the time to stand strong, unite for freedom and justice.
Trump's historic victory, becoming the President after a period of 4 years Trump became president for the first time in 2016 and lost to Joe Biden in 2020. After the recent results, Trump is the first politician since World War II to be re-elected president after a 4-year gap.
Trump is the first leader in American history to defeat a female candidate twice in a presidential election. An interesting fact is that apart from 2016 and 2024, no woman has ever contested the presidential election. Trump has won both times.
Now understand US election results in detail…
Trump's party has a majority in the Senate, the upper and more powerful house In America, along with the presidency, elections are also held for both the houses of the Parliament, the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Senate is like the Rajya Sabha of India and the House of Representatives is like the Lok Sabha. The Senate is the upper house. Out of its 100 seats each state has 2 seats.
Elections are held every 2 years for one-third of the seats in the Senate. This time elections were held on 34 seats. With the latest results, the Republican Party has won 54 seats, equal to a majority. Earlier it had 49 seats.
The Senate is more powerful in America because it has the power to approve or disapprove important issues such as impeachment and foreign treaties. Its members are called senators, who are elected for 6 years, while members of the House of Representatives are elected for only two years.
Trump's party also nears a majority in the lower house The Republican Party is also close to a majority in the House of Representatives. Elections are held every 2 years for its 435 seats. These are called mid-term elections. 218 seats are required for a majority in the House. The Republican Party has won 204 seats and the Democratic Party has won 189 seats.
Although the upper house i.e. Senate is powerful, both houses have equal role in running the government. A bill can be passed by a majority in either of the two houses of Parliament. A majority in both houses would give Trump a free hand to make policies and make big appointments.
People do not directly vote for the president, electors are elected Candidates are not directly voted on in US presidential elections. Electors are elected in their place, who run in the name of a presidential candidate. The number of electors in each state is fixed. Electoral votes are determined by population in each US state.
There are a total of 538 electoral votes in 50 states. Whoever gets 270 votes is elected as President. Electors vote for electors in a state. These voters belong to the Republican or Democratic Party. Generally, the state in which the presidential candidate gets the most votes gets all the seats.
Let us understand this with an example. For example Pennsylvania has 19 electoral votes. If the Republican Party gets 9 votes and the Democratic Party gets 8 votes, all 19 electoral votes will go to the Republican Party because of the higher number of votes. This trend is in 48 states of America.
However, the states of Nebraska and Maine have different systems. In these states, a party gets as many electoral votes as it gets seats. For example, in this election Trump has got 1 electoral vote and Kamala Harris has got 1 electoral vote i.e. 1-1 seat from the state of Maine.

Currently, 19 lawsuits are pending against Musk's companies. Musk's self-driving vision and robo-taxi plans will get the green light. Musk is also likely to play a role in the Trump administration.
Vivek Ramaswamy, Kash Patel and Bobby Jindal of Indian origin may get important posts in the Trump administration. Ramaswamy is likely to get a place in the cabinet. Trump himself has praised him. Patel, who has experience in defense and intelligence sector, may get responsibility related to national security.
