Uproar over cake-samosas, CID investigates: Breakfast ordered for Himachal CM, served to staff; The report called it an anti-government act

In Himachal, the breakfast brought to Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, served to his staff, has created an uproar. The matter escalated to such an extent that an investigation was conducted by a senior CID officer. The report said that the mistake was an anti-government act. However, no action has been taken yet.

The controversy arose when Chief Minister Sukhu came to attend a program at the CID headquarters in Shimla on October 21. On that day, samosas and cakes brought for the Chief Minister were served to his staff. In such a situation, the CM and VVIP guests present in the program could not get breakfast. Now this matter has become a topic of discussion among the bureaucracy.

CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu arrived at CID headquarters in Shimla to attend the programme.

IG asks SI to bring cake-samosa for CM According to the CID investigation report, 3 boxes of samosas and cakes were brought for Chief Minister Sukhu from Hotel Radisson Blu located in Lakkar Bazar, Shimla. At that time an IG rank officer asked the Sub Inspector (SI) of Police to bring some food items from the hotel for the Chief Minister.

SI further sent ASI and constable The SI in turn asked an Assistant SI (ASI) and the Head Constable to bring breakfast. After this ASI and Head Constable reached Hotel Radisson and from there brought breakfast in 3 sealed boxes. This information was given to SI after returning to CID headquarters.

The SI gave the goods to the inspector, distributed it without asking higher officials After taking the breakfast from the hotel, the SI gave it to the lady inspector. The lady inspector sent this snack to Mechanical Transport (MT). The lady inspector did not report this to any higher authority. All refreshments were distributed in presence of SI after arrival of CM. During this time this snack passed into the hands of many people, but no one bothered to bring it for the Chief Minister.

The police laid the blame on an employee of the tourism corporation Police officials in their statement said that when they asked the Tourism Corporation staff on duty whether the Chief Minister would be served breakfast in 3 boxes, they said that they were not included in the menu.

In the investigation report, it was written – this CID-anti-government work The investigation report said that the SI was aware of the breakfast brought for the Chief Minister. Interestingly, a CID department official wrote in his remarks that all the persons named in the investigation report had done anti-CID and anti-government work, which is why these items cannot be handed over to VVIPs.

BJP mocks CM's samosa BJP MLA and media department in-charge Randhir Sharma said, “It is ridiculous that the people of Himachal are worried and the government is worried about the Chief Minister's samosa.” It seems that the government is not concerned about any development work. The only concern is food.

He said that recently an incident related to samosas brought for Chief Minister Sukhu has given rise to controversy. Samosa accidentally approached the chief minister's security staff instead, prompting an investigation by the CID. The investigation termed this mistake as an anti-government act. Anti-government act is a big word in itself.
