Local people say, 'After the accident, all the locks of the shops are broken and people are worried about their safety. Gautam Dutta, who runs a pharmacy in the area, also said that even though he had closed his shop, Army personnel beat him and his employees.

Since the fall of the government in Bangladesh, many cases of violence against the minority Hindu community have come to light. In August, 205 cases of attacks on Hindus were reported in 52 districts of Bangladesh. A rally was organized in Chittagong against it. Cases of forced resignations from minorities were also reported after the power change in August.
