Sensex up over 350 points: Nifty also up 120 points, all sectoral indices up

The Sensex is trading at 79,840 today i.e. November 6 with a gain of over 350 points amid US presidential election polls and results. The Nifty is also up 120 points, trading at 24,330.

Out of 30 stocks in Sensex, 22 are bullish and 8 are bearish. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 43 are bullish and 7 are bearish. All sectoral indices of NSE are trading bullish.

Asian markets are also seeing a boom

  • In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei rose 2.25%. While Korea's Kospi is trading up 0.013% and China's Shanghai Composite is trading up 0.29%.
  • On November 5, the US Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 1.02% at 42,221 and the S&P 500 closed up 1.23% at 5,782. The Nasdaq rose 1.43% to 18,439.
  • Foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹2,569.41 crore on November 5, according to NSE data. Meanwhile, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹3,030.96 crore.

The IPO of Swiggy and ACME Solar Holdings will open today

Swiggy Limited and ACME Solar Holdings Limited's Initial Public Offer i.e. IPO will open today. Investors can bid for both the issues till November 8. Shares of both companies will be listed on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) on November 13.

The market recovered 1,180 points from yesterday's intraday low

Earlier yesterday, on November 5, the Sensex had recovered 1,180 points from the day's low of 78,296. It closed at 79,476 with an increase of 694 points after the day's trade.

The Nifty also improved by 371 points from a low of 23,842. It closed at 24,213, up 217 points. Out of 30 stocks in the Sensex, 21 were gainers and 9 were decliners. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 39 were gainers and 11 were decliners. The metal sector of the NSE was the highest gainer at 2.84%.
