'Ajay and I have known each other for 25 years. He was a neighbor and close friend of my cousin Sameer Arya. When I was young, Sameer and Ajay used to watch over me a lot. They used to beat any boy they saw talking to me. Both were big hooligans. If I am single today, it is because of Ajay Devgan.
Tabu said this in an interview given to Mumbai Mirror. Tabu had an affair with three people from the film industry. Earlier his name was linked with Sanjay Kapoor. She was then in a relationship with director-producer Sajid Nadiadwala. Both got engaged. However, their relationship broke up. Later married to Nagarjuna, but Tabu's relationship with him also did not materialize.
Ever wanted to be an actress, Tabu has been at the top of the film world for 39 years, but is equally lonely in her personal life. Since childhood, she was only close to her mother and sister. I have not seen my father's face till today. Giving him his father's surname is also unacceptable.

Story 1- Hate his father's name Tabu belongs to a Hyderabadi Muslim family. He did not get his father's love in his childhood. In fact, her parents divorced when she was three years old. After this, Tabu's mother worked as a teacher, after the mother took full responsibility for Tabu and her sister from her husband.
In an interview to Simmi Garewal, Tabu said, 'I have only a vague image of my father in my mind. What is the father, what is his love, I am ignorant of these things. I have no relation with them. For this reason, I also don't like using my father's name Hashmi in my name.
Story 2- Did not want to appear in films Tabu never wanted to be an actress. However, his family was known to people from the film world. Veteran actress Shabana Azmi is his aunt. Tabu said in an interview with Simi Garewal, 'I was not attracted to the world of acting. My focus was more on studies. I didn't even like watching movies, but luck changed in such a way that I developed a relationship with movies. I tried many times to keep myself away from movies, but it was not possible.
Story-3- Dev Anand opened the way in films Tabu entered the film world as a child actor. Dev Anand gave him his first break in his film. About the film Break, Tabu said on Anupam Kher's show, 'As a child, I went to a birthday party where my mother's friend Sushma Aunty was also present. Sushma aunty was the sister-in-law of Dev Anand Sahib. He saw me at that birthday party. She knew that Dev Sahib was looking for a child actor to play his daughter in the film.
A few days later, Shabana aunty (Shabana Azmi) came to my school and told me that there is a film offer with Dev Sahib in which you should work. At that time I knew nothing about films. When Shabana aunty told me this I got very nervous. I could not understand anything, but on the insistence of Shabana aunty I agreed to do this. After this, I was screen tested for the film and thus got the role of Dev Saheb's daughter in Hum Naujwaan (1985).
Story-4- Had an affair with 3 people, got engaged to Sajid Nadiadwala. Tabu's personal life is always in the news. When she started shooting for her first Hindi film 'Prem', the news of her linkup with Sanjay Kapoor came out. According to reports, the two were in a serious relationship. However, later both chose different paths. In an interview with Times of India, Sanjay admitted that he was in a relationship with Tabu.
After this, the next person in Tabu's life was director-producer Sajid Nadiadwala. Tabu and Sajid had a relationship while working together in the film 'Jeet'. Both got engaged. However, there was some hesitation in Sajid's mind. He could not easily forget his wife late Divya Bharti. This resulted in her and Tabu's relationship ending before it could take a new turn.
After this, the new person who entered Tabu's life was South superstar Akkineni Nagarjuna. News 18 reports that the two were in a relationship for 10 years. They also lived together under the same roof. Tabu wanted to settle down by marrying an actor. However, Nagarjuna did not want to divorce his wife Amala.
However, Tabu has always publicly denied her affair with Nagarjuna. Once Tabusho appeared as a guest in 'Koffee with Karan'. Here Karan questions his and Nagarjuna's affair. He also asked if she moved to Hyderabad because of Nagarjuna. On that Tabu said – not so. I also have a house there, I myself am from Hyderabad. Yes, he (Nagarjuna) is one of my closest people. Nagarjuna also spoke about her bonding with Tabu in an interview with Times of India. He said- Yes, Tabu is my very good friend. Our friendship goes back a long time, when I was 21 or 22 and she was only 16. Anything to say about our friendship is understated. I have nothing to hide about it.
My face lights up when you mention his name… (laughs). For me, he is a beautiful person and a beautiful friend. Nagarjuna's wife Amala herself has mentioned that she and her entire family share a special bond with Tabu. Whenever Tabu comes to Hyderabad, he stays at her house.
Story-5- Because of the kiss Jackie and Tabu did not work together Jackie Shroff and Tabu have not been seen together in any film. This decision of both is related to the house party. This is from 1986. While Jackie was working in the film Diljala with Tabu's elder sister Farah Naaz. The film also featured Tanuja and Danny Denzongpa.
As reported by Orissa Post, the crew of the film was shooting in Mauritius. At that time Tabu was also present there along with her sister. Danny organized a Rose House party between shoots. The entire star cast of the film was invited. Tabu was also a part of this party along with her sister. Then suddenly a drunk Jackie tries to kiss Tabu. To make matters worse, Danny drags Jackie into the room.
Although Danny handled the situation that night, Tabu's sister Farah Naz caused a ruckus the next morning. She went to the media and told everyone the whole story of last night. He also said that Jackie also tried to attack Tabu. Tabu remained silent throughout the controversy. Shortly after the matter escalated, Farah responded to the media saying it was all just a misunderstanding. However Tabu never worked with Jackie after that.
Story-6- Tabu with Salman in blackbuck casewas also named, later acquitted. This is September 1998. Celebs like Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam Kothari and Sonali Bendre went to Kankani village in Rajasthan for the shooting of the film 'Hum Saath Saath Hai'. There each was accused of hunting 2 chinkaras and 3 antelopes.
On October 2, 1998, the Bishnoi community filed a complaint against Salman Khan and his co-stars. Following this, Salman Khan was arrested on October 12, 1998 and released on bail.
Along with this, the villagers also testified in this case. The villagers said that they reached the spot after hearing gunshots. This hunt was done by Salman. While Saif, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali were in the jeep. These people provoked Salman. All the celebs fled fearing the villagers. However, after some time Saif, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali were acquitted in this case. There was no evidence against these people. While Salman has been released on bail.
'We will continue to get good money, we will continue to do films' Tabu has been active in the film industry for the past 39 years. In the last few years, his films like 'Bhool Bholaiya 2', 'Drashyam 2', 'Bhola' and others have been well received by the audience. After being a part of such a good project, Tabu said in an interview to Siddharth Kanan that I will not stop now. I will keep doing such good films. Just keep getting good money. If I continue to get good money, I will continue to do films.
