After a year and a half of marriage in 2010, both shifted to Mumbai and started living in a rented apartment in Andheri (West). His body was found on 22 October 2012 from the same place.

Initially, the police started the investigation from the angle of robbery, but according to the statement of her husband Kedar, nothing was missing from the house. As there was no angle of robbery, the police registered a case of murder and started investigation. The police initially suspected Kedar, Bidushi's husband, as there were no signs of forced entry into the house. According to Kedar's statement, when he returned home, the door was locked from inside. Only Kedar had the duplicate key of the house.

Under suspicion, when the Mumbai police interrogated Bidushi's husband Kedar, he disclosed about his wife's illness and quarrels. According to the Mumbai Police, there was a sudden change in his behavior.

According to Kedar's statement, both had been going through tough times for a long time. Economic condition was bad and Bidushi was also not getting films. Kedar said in the police statement that a day before Bidushi's death, there was a quarrel between the two on Sunday. After the fight, he left for work at 7.30 am the next day. He messaged Bidushi at around 8.15 a.m. to inquire about her well-being, to which he did not receive a reply.

After messaging Bidushi, Kedar spoke to his father, who is a Lt. Col. After this he made 3 consecutive calls to Bidushi, which were not picked up. Kedar and Bidushi's family was against their love marriage, that's why Kedar didn't talk to Bidushi's family. But when Bidushi didn't pick up the phone that day, a worried Kedar called his father, who is an Air Force officer, for the first time since marriage. Kedar said that despite calling several times, Bidushi is not answering. Father also called him many times.

Even while walking, Bidushi often fainted According to Kedar, Bidushi was diabetic and also had blood pressure problem. This happened on several occasions, when she fainted while walking. She has fainted at home several times due to low blood pressure. According to Kedar, he was also undergoing psychiatric treatment. Kedar's statement was corroborated by his call records and Bidushi's medical report.

Raju Sandhu, a member of the society committee, told the police that the duo neither spoke to anyone nor participated in any of the society's activities. Both were mostly outside or busy with work.

When the Mumbai police took a closer look at Bidushi's call records, it was found that Bidushi received 80 calls on the day of her death, most of which were from her husband Kedar and father. The father also sent several messages to Bidushi, constantly asking her to answer the call. Bidushi, who was looking for work for several days, received many modeling offers through messages. The call records also contained call messages from an agent asking him to return Rs 25,000.

The doctor who treated Bidushi also came to see him that afternoon, but when he reached the house, the door was not opened. In such a state he returned without meeting Bidushi.

According to a PTI report, a woman working in the neighborhood told the police that she saw a man leaving Bidushi's house. However, there is no evidence of this in the CCTV footage.

First a week, then a month and then a year passed, but the true cause of Bidushi's death could not be known. Even the police did not have any solid evidence against her husband Kedar. Finally, almost a year later, the police closed the case, ruling it an accidental death. While closing the case, the police wrote in the report that seeing the condition of the dead body, the police registered a case of murder in a misunderstanding. It was an accident though. That day, Bidushi must have fainted due to low blood pressure and fell against a cupboard, causing the glass to shatter and hit her body.

Many contested the report and the claim of accidental death. Bidushi's father Shantanu Das also spoke about the murder. Forensic experts also said it was impossible for such a serious injury to have been caused by just falling through the glass, although the case was never reopened. Today, even after 12 years, the mystery of Bidushi's death has not been solved.
