Elephants trample 3 people, 2 dead in MP: Flap in villages near Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve; 10 elephants have died in last 3 days

The body of an old man who died in an elephant attack and an injured youth admitted to the hospital.

3 people were mauled by elephants in Chandia Forest Range of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in Umaria, MP. In which two people died. A youth has been injured. The incident took place in Deora village near NH-43 on Saturday morning. The village is just 4 km from Salkhaniya village, where 10 elephants have died in the last 3 days.

According to information, 3 elephants entered the village around 8 am. As soon as the elephants were seen, fear spread among the people. Ratan Yadav (62), who had gone to the river bank, was trampled by an elephant. Due to which he died on the spot. Also near Bagdari Talaiya, Bhairav ​​Kol (35) was also crushed by an elephant and died on the spot. Forest department personnel are appealing to people not to go into the forest.

In rural areas, SDOP Nagendra Singh is making announcements and advising not to go into the forest.

Vehicles were also damaged Elephants also damaged two vehicles near Chandia College. Malu Sahu, a villager, was injured while threshing paddy in the field. He has been admitted to the hospital. As soon as the information was received, the forest department and police officials reached the spot. Villagers are scared after the movement of elephants. The forest department team is making efforts to rescue the elephants.

Search is on for three elephants involved in the herd Kuldeep Tripathi, divisional forest officer of the same forest division, said that after receiving the information, teams from Chandia, Nowruzabad and Umaria forest ranges have reached the spot. More than 50 officers and employees have been deployed.

Elephants are being monitored. Three elephants are said to be missing, the search for which is on. Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve has also been informed. At present, it is not clear whether these elephants belong to Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve or come from some other place.

After the incident, along with the police, ACS of the forest department also reached the spot.

Directs compensation to the families of the deceased As soon as the incident came to light in the Chandia Forest Range, ACS Ashok Nacharil and PCCF Asim Srivastava of the Forest Department also reached the spot. After discussing with the staff, the location of the incident was identified. Also, ACS Nabrichal directed Umaria DFO to give the compensation amount within 24 hours.

The son said – the father did not receive the call Ramratan Yadav's son Santalal Yadav said that at 6 in the morning, the father went to the forest to defecate. Meanwhile, some people were climbing the tank and watching the elephant. When I asked, he said – the elephants have come. I thought father went in this direction. When I called, he did not pick up the phone.

We went out to see them. They were lying on the road. He was attacked by an elephant. However, the elephants did not come inside the village. Eyewitness Mahipal Singh said that they went to the forest in the morning. Saw three wild elephants coming. I got scared and started running. Now the people in the village are afraid that somewhere the elephant will come to the village.
