The controversy that started over the JioHotstar.com domain has taken a new turn. An anonymous app developer from Delhi has sold this domain to two kids in Dubai.
The app developer bought the domain in 2023 when the JioCinema-Hotstar merger talks started. The developer felt that the JioHotstar.com domain would be the best option for the company formed after the merger.

- The developer has written in the letter that he will give this domain to Reliance only if the company gives him funds for further studies. The developer wanted to raise funds for tuition fees to study an EMBA at Cambridge University.
- The developer said that Ambujesh Yadav, assistant vice president (commercial) of Reliance, had approached him and discussed the domain, but he had declined the offer. Reliance asked for legal action regarding the domain name.
- On Saturday, JioHotstar.com had a new landing page stating that Dubai-based siblings Jainam and Jeevika have bought a domain from a young software developer to support them.
- Jainam and Jivika also made a video about buying a domain. In this he said, this is much less than the amount of funds required by the app developer, but we wanted to help him so we bought the domain.
