Varun Dhawan Wanted To Watch 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai': Dad David Flaunts, Says 'I'll Drop You Here On The Road', Released On The Same Day As 'Bade Mian Chhote Mian'

Varun Dhawan recently spoke about the release of his father David Dhawan's film Bade Mian Aur Chhote Mian. He said, 'The clash between Bade Mian and Chhote Mian happened from Karan Johar's film 'Kuch Kuch Hota'. I remember expressing my desire to watch Karan's film, which made my father very angry. He told me that I will leave you here on the streets of London.

Talking to Indian Express, Varun Dhawan said, 'Bade Mian Chhote Mian' premiered in London. I don't know why they did that there and the makers gave us a limousine (a big and luxurious car) with Govinda and Amitabh Bachchan's faces on it. We were driving through the streets of London in that limousine. But I wanted to watch 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'. I didn't even know Karan at that time.

Varun said, 'Mane Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' was a great movie. I told my father that I want to watch this film, so he told me, I will leave you here on the streets of London. I remember telling him you can't treat children like that. Apparently 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' got huge popularity. After all, it was Karan Johar who launched me.

In 1998, two big films collided In the year 1998, there was a clash between two big films at the box office. Both these films were released on October 16, 1998. Bade Mian Chhote Mian had Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda in lead roles. At the same time, Karan Johar's film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai starred Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji and Farida Jalal in lead roles.

Varun started his acting career in 2012 Varun Dhawan started his career as an actor in 2012 with Karan Johar's film 'Student of the Year'. In the same year, he was also nominated for the Filmfare Best Male Debut Awards.

Varun will be seen in these films Varun Dhawan's espionage action-thriller web series 'Citadel: Honey Bunny' starring South actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu will release on OTT on November 7. After this Varun Dhawan will be seen in another action film Baby John.
