The current President hails from East India. Vice President from West India. The Prime Minister is elected from North India (MP from Varanasi). In such a situation, there is a possibility that a South Indian leader will get the responsibility.

Election so far uncontested… Till now the election of the National President was uncontested in BJP. It means that only one person nominates and is elected as Chairman without voting. It is hoped that this tradition will continue this time as well. However, in 2013, when the process of re-electing Nitin Gadkari as chairman began, Yashwant Sinha filed his candidature. This caused an uproar, but when Gadkari showed reluctance, Sinha withdrew his nomination and Rajnath Singh was elected as chairman.
