Cybersecurity: Be careful, using free WiFi doesn't have to be expensive!

There are many types of money. Some save money, some save time, some save water. However, all savings are outdated. Now people save data (internet). 1 GB, 1.5 GB or 2 GB data received at 12 midnight every day is saved and used to last 24 hours. If you find free WiFi in it, fear fear! The phone is connected to WiFi in the next minute. If you do this too, be careful, using free wifi somewhere doesn't have to be expensive! Imagine you go to a mall, where there is free public WiFi. You connect your phone to WiFi. After shopping from any shop in the mall, you pay with the UPI app. By the time you reach home from the mall, your bank account is empty. You will be confused and the first thought will be that there must have been something wrong while paying in the mall. Your assumption is correct, but the shop where the payment was made did not mess up. WiFi is messed up.

WiFi Hacking/DNS Hacking Frauded You is called DNS Hijacking or DNS Redirection, in which cyber criminals hack public WiFi in places like malls, railway stations, bus stations, hotels, etc. Then he commits fraud with the people who are using that wifi. Nowadays, it is not difficult to hack any public WiFi, as its security is relatively low. Cyber gothia or hackers change DNS setting by hacking WiFi, which we can call DNS hacking.

What is DNS? DNS stands for Domain Name System. Every website on the Internet has a unique IP address. This IP address is the address of that Website. For example www.example.com would have an IP of 192.168.1.1. As such it is impossible to remember the IP addresses of every website. That is, the DNS has the information about which website's IP address is which. When we type the name of a website in the browser, DNS immediately converts it to an IP address, so that we can reach the correct address. All these processes are super fast.

What does DNS hacking do? You have gone to an unknown city. You want to go to the railway station but don't know the way. You ask the person standing next to you for directions to the station. However, the person deliberately shows you the way to the bus station instead of the railway station to annoy you. Cyber goons do the same after hacking DNS. Each WiFi has its own DNS settings. Based on which it sends a request to the DNS server to convert the domain name to an IP address. Now hackers first hack WiFi and then manipulate its DNS settings. Now when you type in a website, instead of taking you to the right place, DNS will take you to the wrong website, which you think is right, or to a webpage full of viruses and malware. After opening, by the time you understand anything or go back, the virus must have entered the phone or computer. The purpose of the fake website is to steal your data. Your personal and banking data will be lost. Also, if you open any bank's website or app, cyber criminals will immediately steal your login ID and password. Many times, after connecting to WiFi, malware will somehow be sent to your phone, so that they get access to the payment app. Only then will you know when the message that the account is empty will come!

What to do to survive? You may find the method of hacking a bit difficult but the solution to avoid it is quite simple. Avoid using public WiFi as much as possible. If you have to use public WiFi, never make a payment with it, never open a bank website, never log in anywhere. NO in capitals and bold. It is not that if you use public wifi, you will immediately get scammed, or it happens everywhere. Such incidents happen only to the few people, but there is a saying in Gujarati that a careful man is always happy. What is the guarantee that our turn will not come to some people?
