India's losses at Commonwealth Games: excluding 9 sports including hockey, wrestling, badminton, shooting, India won 286 medals including 149 gold

Badminton, shooting, cricket, hockey, squash, table tennis, wrestling, triathlon and archery have been excluded from the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Only 10 events will take place in the Glasgow Commonwealth.

These include athletics, swimming, artistic gymnastics, track cycling, netball, weightlifting, boxing, judo, bowls and basketball. All these programs will be held at four locations. Apart from this, events will also be held for para athletes.

Earlier this Commonwealth Games was to be held in Australia. Last year, the Australian government refused to host the event. After this it was decided to hold the Games in Glasgow (Scotland).

19 games were played in Birmingham The last Commonwealth Games (in 2022) was held in Birmingham, England. It consisted of 19 games. India won medals in 12 games here. Archery and shooting were not included in the Birmingham Games.

Hockey part of the Commonwealth Games since 1998 Field hockey has been a part of the Commonwealth Games since 1998. Australian men's and women's teams have always dominated this. The Australian men's team has won the gold medal seven times (1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022). At the same time, the women's team has won gold medals four times and silver and bronze medals once.

The Indian men's team won silver medals in 2010, 2014 and 2022, losing to Australia in the final. Along with this, the Indian women's team won the gold medal in 2002. The women's hockey team managed to win the silver medal in 2006 and the bronze medal in 2022.

A total of 61 medals were won at the Birmingham Games India won a total of 61 medals at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, of which 22 were gold medals. Indians won medals in wrestling (12), weightlifting (10), athletics (8), boxing and table tennis (7 each). The Indian women's cricket team won the silver medal in this Commonwealth Games.
