Raj Thackeray's son can also contest elections The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) is considering fielding Raj Thackeray's son Amit Thackeray. Mumbai's Mahim and Bhandup West assembly seats are being reviewed for Amit Thackeray. Sada Saravankar of Shinde Sena is the current MLA from Mahim seat. Thackeray Sena's Ramesh Korgaonkar is the sitting MLA from Bhandup West assembly seat.

If MNS fields Amit Thackeray from Mahim Assembly seat, Shiv Sena (UBT) may consider not fielding its candidate from this seat. When Aditya Thackeray contested the 2019 assembly elections for the first time, the MNS did not field its candidate from the Worli seat.

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Mahayutti's candidate Rahul Shewale got a lead of around 14 thousand in the Mahim assembly seat due to the support of MNS. That is why MNS feels that Mahim assembly seat can be safe for Amit Thackeray.
