Women's T20 World Cup gets new champions: New Zealand beat 2016 champions West Indies by 8 runs; Reached the final for the third time

The Women's T-20 World Cup 2024 final will be played between New Zealand and South Africa. Along with this, the Women's T20 World Cup will have a new champion. New Zealand beat 2016 champions West Indies by 8 runs in the second semi-final played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday.

New Zealand won the toss and batted first and scored 128 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs, giving West Indies a target of 129 runs. In reply, the West Indies team could score only 120 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Aidan Carson took 3 wickets from New Zealand. He was selected player of the match.

The final match will be played on October 20. The final will be played between New Zealand and South Africa for the first time. Thus, this time, the new champion of Women's T20 World Cup will be found. The Kiwi team has reached the final after 14 years. Earlier, the team reached the finals of both the 2009 and 2010 World Cups but lost both times.
