Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi government minister Satyendra Jain was granted bail by a Delhi court on Friday. While granting bail, the Rouse Avenue court said- there is no possibility of the trial ending soon. Satyendra Jain was arrested in May 2022 in this case. Jain has also applied for bail in the Supreme Court.
On 24 August 2017, the ED initiated an investigation into the money laundering case against Jain based on an FIR registered by the CBI. Satyendra Jain purchased movable properties in the names of several people from 14 February 2015 to 31 May 2017. for which he could not give a satisfactory account. Along with him, a case was registered against Poonam Jain, Ajit Prasad Jain, Sanil Kumar Jain, Vaibhav Jain and Ankush Jain.
42 days bail was granted for treatment On May 26, the Supreme Court granted bail to Jain for 6 weeks on medical grounds. July 11 was the last day of his bail. During the hearing on the bail plea, the court said that Jain can seek treatment at a private hospital, but will not impress any witness. He will not even go outside Delhi. Submit the report of whatever treatment you are undergoing by July 10.
Jain was in custody since May 31, 2022. After his bail plea was rejected by the Delhi High Court on April 6, 2023, he appealed to the Supreme Court in May 2023, where he was granted bail for 42 days after 360 days.
Jain visited the hospital three times a week in May On the morning of May 25, AAP leader Satyendra Jain slipped and fell in the Tihar Jail washroom. He was admitted to Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital. After his health deteriorated in the afternoon, he was shifted to Loknayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital (LNJP) and kept on oxygen support.
