Get rid of frequent phone changes!: Samsung launches mid-range smartphone, will get OS updates for 6 years; The feature also sucks

Samsung has launched a new mid-range smartphone in India. Which is Galaxy A16 5G. The highlight of this new phone from Samsung is that it comes with 6 years of security patches and 6 years of Android updates. Apart from the cool design of the phone, it comes with a 5000mAH battery. The phone also has a 'Key Island' feature.

What is the price of the phone? The Samsung Galaxy A-series has been launched in India at a price of Rs 18,999 for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. While its 8GB + 256GB variant has been launched at Rs 20,999. The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G phone will be available in trendy colors like Gold, Light Green and Blue Black.

With 6 years of security patches and 6 years of Android updates

What is the specification? The Samsung Galaxy A16 is a slim 5G phone and features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display. The refresh rate of the phone is 90Hz and Exynos 1330 chipset. The Galaxy A15 5G has a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. The phone is coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage which can be further expanded via microSD card.

Will the phone come with a charger or not? Samsung Galaxy A16 5G runs Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 custom skin. The company is promising 6 years of OS updates with this phone, which is a first for a mid-budget segment model. Samsung Galaxy A16 5G comes with 25W fast charging. A charging cable is available with the phone but the adapter has to be purchased separately.

What is the camera resolution? Talking about the camera, the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G has a 50MP back camera, a 5MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro unit. There is a 13MP snapper on the front for selfies. The phone has 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and a USB Type-C port for charging. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security and an IP54 rating to protect the phone from splashes.
