Today i.e. on 17th October, the stock market is seeing a surge. The Sensex is trading at 81,700, up over 200 points. The Nifty is also seeing a jump of over 50 points, trading at 25,050.
IT, auto and energy stocks are witnessing further growth today. While FMCG and banking stocks fell. Out of the 30 stocks of the Sensex, 19 have gained and 11 have lost.
Mixed business in the Asian market
- The Asian market is booming. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index is trading up 0.36% and China's Shanghai Composite Index is trading up 0.07%.
- On October 16, America's Dow Jones closed up 0.79% at 43,077 and the Nasdaq closed up 0.28% at 18,367. The S&P 500 also rose 0.47%.
- According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹3,435 crore on October 16. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹2,256 crore.
Today is the last day of Hyundai India's IPO
Today is the last day of Hyundai India's IPO. The shares of the company will be listed in the market on October 22. The company has fixed its price band at Rs 1,865-1,960. For this, a bid of at least 13,720 rupees has to be made.
Yesterday the market saw a decline
Before this, yesterday i.e. on 16th October, the stock market saw a decline. The Sensex closed down 318 points at 81,501. The Nifty also fell 86 points to close at 24,971.
