A Swedish media report has accused French star footballer Kylian Mbappe of rape. Mbappe's team has dismissed the allegations as false.
The 25-year-old footballer wrote 'fake news' while tagging related reports in X post. Several Swedish media reports claimed that Mbappe was under investigation in a rape-related case.
The lawyer of Sweden said – the police have received a complaint Sweden's public prosecutors said in a statement on Tuesday – 'The police have received a complaint of rape but no one is named in it.' According to the report, the incident took place on October 10, 2024 at a hotel in Stockholm, the statement said.

'These allegations are completely false and irresponsible. Kylian Mbappe will not tolerate any damage to his reputation and honor.
Swedish newspapers Aftonbladet and Expressen as well as public broadcaster SVT claimed in their respective reports that an investigation against Mbappe was ongoing.
Expressen reports that police seized the clothes as evidence, having previously claimed that Mbappe was under “reasonable suspicion” of rape and sexual assault. But no formal charges have been filed, meaning no suspects are in custody.
