Flying festival begins in Shimla: 50 para-gliders take off; The Governor also inaugurated the women pilots of West Bengal

The 'Flying Festival' has started from Wednesday in Junga, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla inaugurated this 4-day championship. 2 days later wrestler The Great Khali will also participate in the flying festival as the chief guest.

Apart from India, around 50 competitors from various states are participating in the Para Gliding Championship. This will also include a women para glider from West Bengal. A Spot Landing Para Gliding Championship is organized at the Flying Festival. Pilots are competing in solo and team categories.

Programs to attract tourists

The championship is being organized for the second time in Shimla with the aim of attracting domestic and foreign tourists. Last year also, the International Flying Festival was organized in Janga.

Governor inaugurated

Arun Rawat, managing director of Shimla Glide Inn, organizer of the Shimla 'Flying Festival', said that there is great enthusiasm among competitors for paragliding. He said that this championship was inaugurated by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla.

On October 18, Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh and Great Khali will attend as chief guests. He said that the competition will end on October 19.

5 lakh cash prize

Rawat said that a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh will be given to the Para Gliding team that wins the competition and a cash prize of Rs 2.25 lakh will be given to the participant who wins the first prize in the solo class.

The Para Gliding Pre-World Cup is also going to be held in Narwana and Bir-Biling in Himachal in November this year.
