Mood and Mind: Abdominal Migraine: An Indirect Effect of Stress

Dr. Spandan Thacker

Abdominal pain starts anytime 2-3 times in a month. Stomach feels very tight, cramps start. The pain lasts for 3-4 days and then goes away. When the stomach hurts, the head also feels very heavy, feels dizzy, the body becomes watery and feels as if there is no strength. This problem was happening from last 3-4 years. Showed to several stomach doctors and also got checked. Reports were all normal. As the age increased, so did the disease. This problem occurs in 10-15 percent of people and is called abdominal migraine. As in migraine there is headache, dizziness, nausea. This problem is exacerbated by lights and noise. A similar problem occurs here in the stomach. This problem is more common in women than men. There are no reports of abdominal cases in which this disease is caught but the recurrent pain and associated symptoms alone are diagnostic. There are some triggers for this pain. Like not getting enough sleep for a few days. Certain stressful situations can create a decrease in serotonin. Have an overly emotional nature. Due to traveling the schedule may be disturbed by 3-4 days. Eating a certain type of food in which there is too much spicy, fried, cheese or caffeine. Menstruation time is near or if there are clouds in the atmosphere, these types of pains start. Taking painkillers can provide some relief but the pain does not go away for a long time. If there are episodes of this type of pain 2-3 times in a month, treatment is necessary. Due to this pain, studies are affected, temperament becomes a little irritable, mood is not maintained and there is difficulty in working. Medications that reduce stress and some therapy are very helpful in treatment. Relaxation counseling and yoga are especially useful for reducing stress. Because some diseases are long-lasting, lifestyle modification becomes the main treatment rather than medication. Although many diseases are not directly linked to stress, stress relief is provided. Abdominal Migraine is a very rare diagnosed disease, for the treatment of which the use of meditation and pranayama gives very good results. Mood Mantra: It is worth noting that mental stress can be a cause when the symptoms of a disease are causing problems but the reports cannot find a diagnosis!
