Israel targeted shopping malls and shops in Beirut late Saturday night.
Israel attacked 2 towns on Saturday. One of these, Barja, is 32 kilometers from Beirut, where the majority of the Sunni population lives.
Four people were killed here in the Israeli attack. Hezbollah is a Shiite organization, so Israel has so far targeted Shiite areas during the Lebanon war. According to American media house CNN, this is the first time an attack has taken place in a Sunni area.
5 people were killed in an Israeli attack in Mysra, northern Lebanon. Israel, on the other hand, claimed that Hezbollah fired 300 projectiles (small missiles) at them on Saturday.
Lebanese troops have been deployed in Barja, a Sunni area of Lebanon, following the Israeli attack.
Claim-Hamas wanted to attack Israel with Iran
The plan to attack Israel by Hamas on October 7 last year was formulated two years ago in 2022. Hamas also appealed to Iran and Hezbollah to support the attack.
The American media house New York Times has made this disclosure based on the documents of the meeting of Hamas in the hands of the Israeli army. The NYT claims it has access to 10 Hamas meetings.
One of these meetings was held between Iranian commander Mohammad Saeed Ezadi and senior officials of Hamas and Hezbollah. It has been claimed that Hamas asked Izadi and Hezbollah to cooperate in attacking key Israeli targets.
To this, Izadi and Hezbollah said that they support the objective of attacking Israel but that it will take time to create the environment for an attack. Iran and Hezbollah have denied the allegations. Iran has said that there is no truth in these documents. He had no information about Hamas planning for the October 7 attack.
