Mallika Sherawat has made a comeback in Hindi films with the film 'Vicky Vidya Ka Wo Wala Video'. Recently, during an interview, Mallika said that she did not get support from her family since childhood. The actress also said that the family was in mourning as soon as she was born. When the son was not born, the mother fell into depression.
Talking about patriarchy and family support in a recent interview to Hotterfly, Mallika Sherawat said, I had no one's support. Neither mother, nor father, nor family.

He further said that when I was born, there was mourning in my family. My mother went into depression. What was wrong with him? There was a lot of pressure on him. Society had put so much pressure on them that we only want a boy. Imagine, my poor mother was only 17 years old at that time. Imagine how difficult it must have been to get pregnant and give birth, when people are saying 10 things to you instead of congratulating you. My grandmother used to say that if there are boys, the roots go into the ground.
Mallika Sherawat praised Mahesh Bhatt Mallika was asked in the conversation that some good men must have come in your life. On this he said, I have had many good men in my life, who have made me who I am today. Some people gave me wings, like Mahesh Bhatt sir. He has contributed immensely in liberating me from patriarchy. I used to talk to him for hours during the shooting of Murder. It made a lot of difference to me to see his ideas and the women in his family who were very progressive.
The movie 'Vicky Vidya Ke Wo Wala Video' has been released in theaters on October 11. The film stars Rajkumar Rao and Tripti Dimri in lead roles, while Mallika Sherawat, Vijay Raaz, Archana Puran Singh play supporting roles.
