Noel Tata becomes chairman of TATA Trust: Ratan Tata's half-brother Thay, currently also chairman of Trent and Voltas

After the death of Ratan Tata, the command of the group's largest stakeholder 'Tata Trust' has been handed over to step brother Noel Tata. Noel's name was agreed upon in a meeting held in Mumbai on Friday.

Noel Tata was a strong contender to carry on the Tata legacy due to his family connections and involvement in several group companies. Noel Tata is already a trustee of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and Sir Ratan Tata Trust.

Noel is the chairman of Trent and Voltas, a Tata Group company Noel Trent Voltas, son of Naval and Simon Tata, is chairman of Tata Investments and Tata International. Vice Chairman of Tata Steel and also on the board of Sir Ratan Tata Trust.

Tata Trust – 66% stake in the ₹13.8 lakh crore group The importance and size of Tata Trust can be understood from the fact that it is a group of charitable organizations of the Tata Group, which owns 66% of the Tata Group with an income of Rs 13 lakh crore. Under this, Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and Sir Ratan Tata Trust own 52% of Tata Sons.

Trent became chairman in 2014, shares rose 6000% Since 2014, he has been the Chairman of Trent Limited. Trent owns Judeo and Westside. Under his leadership, the company's stock has risen more than 6,000% over the past 10 years. Noel's leadership has led the company to grow its workforce and stores at a time when its market peers have been shrinking.

Noel, an Irish citizen, his three children Noel Tata, 67, is Ratan Tata's half-brother and has been associated with the Tata Group, including Tata Trust, for many years. He is the son of Naval Tata's second wife. Noel is an Irish citizen. Noel is married to Aloo Mistry. Aloo is the daughter of Pallonji Mistry, the largest shareholder of Tata Sons.

They have three children. Leah, Maya and Neville. According to the Tata Trust website, his children are also trustees of several charitable organizations associated with the family. Noel Tata is known for his less profitable leadership style and stays away from the media compared to Ratan Tata.
