21-year-old girl gang-raped in Pune: Goes to Bopadev Ghat with friend; Crime branch 10 team searches for accused, arrests one suspect

A 21-year-old girl was gang-raped in Pune, Maharashtra. According to Kondwa police, the incident took place in Bopadev Ghat area of ​​Pune on Thursday night. The girl had gone for a walk with her friend on the ghat, where she was gang-raped by three people around 11 pm.

However, the incident was reported to the police at 5 am on Friday. Pune Joint CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma said that one suspect has been arrested in this case. which is being interrogated.

The search for the remaining 2 accused is on. For this, 10 teams of Crime Branch and Detective Branch have been formed, who are investigating in Kondwa area.

The police received information about the incident at 5 am on Friday.

The accused beat up the girl's friend, tied her with a cloth Joint CP Ranjan Kumar said that the complaint stated that the girl went to a deserted area of ​​the ghat with her friend. According to a report in India Today, one of the accused approached their car and said that the couple was not allowed in the area.

The accused took the girl to another place and gang-raped her. The girl is in hospital, undergoing treatment. The police will record the girl's statement today.
