Haryana Police claimed that Sandeep attacked the police when they were asking him to surrender and was shot three times in a retaliatory attack. While the investigation by the Mumbai Police has revealed that Sandeep was unarmed at the time of the encounter. This encounter was fake.
There were reports that the Haryana Police carried out this under pressure from the underworld. As a result, the policemen involved in the encounter and Inspector Pradyuman Yadav were arrested.

Abhijit often gave Divya expensive gifts, including an iPhone. Many times Divya also took money from Abhijeet. The two met frequently at Abhijeet's South Extension house and hotel in Gurugram. After Medhana left, Divya started talking about money again. Abhijit thought it better to take Divya away from home so that her friends would not know anything. Abhijit, Balraj and Divya left home in their Mini Cooper at 3.15 pm to go to the hotel.
The trio reached the hotel around 4 o'clock. When the key to his favorite room number 114 was not found at the reception, he opened room number 111 after waiting for a few minutes. Abhijeet and Divya go to the room, while Balraj returns.
Next day at around 6 pm Abhijit left the room. He was completely drunk. He first got his hotel staff Hemraj and Omprakash to open room number 114 and then came to the reception and said that there was a dead body in the upstairs room. He has been killed.
He asked the staff to go and clean the room and with that he left. The staff got scared after hearing about the dead body in the hotel. The staff first called Anuj, to whom Abhijit had leased his hotel some time ago.
Anuj did not want to get into any legal trouble, so he asked the staff to report it to the police. When the police arrived late at night, the staff said that Abhijeet was in room number 114. When the police reached the room, they found that there was nothing there. No dead body and no clue found. The police scolded the staff for wasting time and left.
After some time Abhijeet again returned to the hotel. At this time his friends Balraj and Ravi Banga were also with him. After arriving at the hotel, Abhijeet asked his staff to bring the body down and put it in the trunk of the BMW car. When the staff reached the first floor, they found that the body was not in room number 114 but in room number 111. They wrapped the body in a sheet and kept it in Balraj's car. Balraj and Ravi leave with the dead body, while Abhijeet returns to his house.
Some time passed when Divya's sister Naina started getting worried because of not being able to contact her. Divya was always in touch with her sister. She used to tell her sister where she was going and with whom. On January 1, she also told her sister that she was going to Abhijeet's house for a New Year party.
When Divya's sister contacted Abhijeet, he did not talk. Divya was also not there when she panicked and reached Abhijeet's house. Finally, Naina, worried for her sister, went straight to the police station. This time the police went straight to Gurugram's City Point Hotel for a search.
The same hotel where the police had searched just hours before. At first the hotel staff continued to make up stories, but when the CCTV footage was extracted, the results were shocking.

A forensic team was immediately called and hotel staff Hemraj and Omprakash were arrested. On the other hand, Abhijit was arrested from his South Extension house.

After the arrest, Abhijit confessed his crime. In his statement to the police, he said that he was talking to Divya on the afternoon of January 2. Divya tells him that he is gay and is interested in girls. He wants to meet a girl. Hearing this, Abhijit called his friend Medha at the hotel at 3:30 pm. Even before Medha reached the hotel, Divya started demanding 30 lakh rupees.

Abhijeet's friends dumped Divya's body in the Bhakhra canal of Sangrur on January 2, which was recovered after 10 days of hard work. Abhijeet, his staff Hemraj, Omprakash, lawyer Balraj, PSO Pravesh, Ravi Banga and Medha were arrested in this case. The case is currently in court.
