Citroen C3 hatchback car launched with automatic transmission: Price Rs. 10 lakhs onwards; Safety features like 6 airbags, which will rival the Tata Tiago

Citroen has on September 28 announced the price of the automatic transmission model of the entry-level hatchback car Citroen C3. The French carmaker introduced the updated versions of the Citroen C3 hatchback and Citroen C3 Aircross in the Indian market in August 2024 at the launch event of the SUV-coupe Basalt.

The hatchback will now come with 6 airbags and new features have also been added. Citroen has offered a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission option in its top variant Shine Turbo, which has a starting ex-showroom price of Rs. 9.99 lakh has been kept. The car competes with Maruti Wagon R, Celerio and Tata Tiago.

Citroen C3: engine and gearbox The Citroen C3 is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which generates 81Bhp and 115Nm. This engine is tuned with a 5 speed manual gearbox. The car is also offered with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine option, which generates 109hp and 190Nm of torque. Along with this, 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox options are now available.

Exterior: LED projector headlamps available instead of halogen headlamps The exterior design of the updated Citroen C3 has not been changed, but the LED projector headlamps have been replaced with halogen headlamps. The car now has integrated turn indicators on the outside rearview mirror (ORVM). The ORVM can now be electrically adjustable and foldable. A wiper is also provided on the rear windshield along with a washer.

Interior: 7 inch fully digital driver display The car's dashboard remains the same as before, but now features a 7-inch fully digital driver display, which is borrowed from the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV. Apart from this, the C3 has switches for automatic climate control and power windows removed from the center console and placed on the driver's side door pads.

Features: 6 airbags will be available for safety The Citroen C3 hatchback comes with features like a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted audio controls, remote locking/unlocking and a height-adjustable driver's seat.

For safety, the C3 hatchback now also comes with 6 airbags. Apart from this, features like electronic stability control, hill hold assist, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and rear parking camera with sensors are available.
